What Life is all about
The following story is about 2 patients:
Patient A is down with heart attack; Patient B had an accident and is stranded to the bed with movement difficulties.
Both are admitted to the same ward - Patient A's bed is beside a small window while patient B lies beside Patient A.
Every morning, A will look out of the window smiling and B is envious.
1week passed and finally, B decided to strike a conversation with A.
B: Hi, can you describe the scenery to me? It seems wonderful outta..
A: Of cos it is! I can see a clear blue sky with clouds looking like heart shapes. The trees are tall and flowers are beautiful. I can smell the flower scent while hearing the birds chirping away...........
This went on for a month. They became good friends an each day, A will describe to B in details, how wonderful the scenery is outta.
However, B is never contented. He wishes to see it for himself. In fact, he's starting to get jealous.
On one late night, B is wakened up by A's heavy breathing. A is gasping hard for breath and he seems to be in great pain. He crutches his chest tightly and look at B. A faint voice was heard: "Press.. the emergency button for me".
B acted as if he heard nothing and went back to sleep. 10mins passed and the ward went back into silence again.
The very next morning, upon waking up, B saw a nurse tidying A's bed..
B: Where's A?
Nurse: I'm so sorry; he passed away last night.
Though feeling guilty, B felt delighted at the same time. He looked at the nurse and said: "If that's the case, can you move me to his bed? I wish to lie beside the window"
Wish is granted finally and B is anxious to see the beautiful scenery outta, as described by A.
To his dismay, the scenery that greeted him made him dumbfounded.
Right in front of him, is an old ugly chipped wall with water pipes leaking. A foul odour can be smelt in the air. The scene is not pleasing at all.
B's tears rolled down from his eyes but this enlightenment can never revive A.
Moral of the story:
The decision lies in your own hands. You're the only one whom can choose your ways of living. Life may be full of ups and downs but it's your thought that matters.
To be, or not to be: that is the question. (by William Shakespeare)
