Dedicated to all people whom don't understand what does it mean by setting up a Company and working from home.
Working from home, is pretty similar from any individuals whom gets their pay check by going to work daily in the morning at 8am.
The only difference is that I do not need to wake up early to bathe, put on some heavy make up on my face, think of what clothes to wear today and spend time squeezing on the public transports with others, on the way to office.
Yes, I might have the luxury to wake up probably at 8 instead of 6am daily, but I slog my way off when everyone else is catching their beauty sleep, in the middle of the night at 3am or sometimes even 4 to 5am.
Colleagues, I have none. Hence I have full concentration and focus in whatever things that I'm doing.
I do not have the luxury of complaining to anyone about how hard I have worked (anyway I never enjoy bitching. And if you happened to come across this blog, save your time typing - this is a private blog), nor talk to anyone when I simply feel stress and or wish to take a minute or two off work.
Yes, the best part of this job that I'd so far, is that I have the luxury of taking time off without the need to seek approval from anyone. But, did anyone ever wondered if I have deadlines to meet as well? I suppose not.
Yes, I have tons of deadlines to meet too. Setting up own business and making sure that it'll work and it MUST work, contains more responsibilities than how much a monthly paid employee can imagine.
For all the "time offs' that I have taken off from work, probably to help a family or friend in need, I have to work it back during the middle of the night.
Hence, it would really be good if everyone could just keep your mouths shut even if you still wish to think that I'm enjoying all the free time at home.
Frankly, never have I tried to complain this to anyone at all for I don't think there's a need to put myself in any plights, which may stands to deserve sympathies.
For, if one is not interested or choose to ignore in whatever the hell I'm doing right now, it's simply useless to explain and get things into their brains.
BUT, not knowing something, doesn't mean that it doesn't exists.
For all the efforts that I have put into this business, is not as easy as ABC.
Working from home is not = shaking leg at home.
NO, IT IS NOT.
While in a Company, you guys have the luxury of having different departments to settle different issues for you. But for a self employed like me, I have only me and myself to count on.
Even from the most basic thing like taking in sales orders to keying them in, delivering goods, sourcing for goods, sourcing for suppliers, QC, inventory managing, photography, image editing, updating newsletters, social media updates, social media marketing, IT - which includes setting up and rectifying issues when my website or emails are down, managing fashion blogs, getting my butt out of the house to do survey checks in the malls, attending networking events to know more people so as to bring in more sales, reading up each and every details that are available on the website to check out what grant is best for my Company and how to get that, doing all the paper work filings, taxes filings etc etc etc etc. No, I'm not going to put all my job scopes here.
Cos if one is smart enough and had been through lots, he/she will then know what kind of tedious works I'm going through right now.
To a lot of people outta, these stuffs looks easy. Yes, I agree. Cos it's all in words. It takes less than a minute to finish reading it.
But, in order to do it and make these work, its gonna take years and years to achieve it.
Simply put, this is the system which all Businesses/ big Corporations are using. And, in order to get these systems to work, you guys are the reasons why you are hired.
For me, I'm building these system by myself from scratch. And in order to further expand it, before I could hire anyone like you guys to do all these "easy" tasks for me, I have to make sure it all works.
Getting a lil trickier and harder? No, it's not. This is what we call Business.
Yes, everyone can do it, but well, not everyone can succeed in it. And that's the reason why Businesses fails daily and people choose to go back to their comfort zone by getting a monthly pay check.
But, if you ask me - Then why do I sign up for this when it might not even work?
Well, it's a natural thing to ask, I understand. For not everyone has the courage or entrepreneur mindset to take and manage such risks, when knowing that it might not even be a win-win situation game.
Well, and that's exactly the reason why I sign up for its.
Huge Corporations like Google, Facebook or Microsoft don't happen over night. It takes years or some even few decades, to be at where they are today.
For normal people out there, all you could do is envy and bitch about how rich these people are. But, none will ever take a moment to think about what kind of risks/decisions/difficulties these guys had been through, in order to make all these things work. How much they'd given up (probably more than me), before they could make a stand in this world.
I don't blame you all, for this is really a complex system to understand.
But, for relatives and friends whom enjoy asking - Am I earning? Is this business workable?
What kind of answers are ya' all expecting?
Simply put - Aliexpress' CEO Ma Yun might be one of the richest dude on earth now. But, his wealth doesn't just accumulate over night. Nor does his business blooms after setting up for barely a year.
No.
This is not a fantasy world. We are not playing a drama now, where everything work wonders with just a wave of the wand.
And no, I'm not talking about striking lotteries now either.
Ma Yun went through huge obstacles where a normal person (not even me) can imagine. He set up Alibaba when the internet starts blooming. And frankly, do you think anyone would have supported his ideas back then?
People were all laughing behind his back and joking about how naive he is, to have come up of such idea.
But, he didn't give up. He chose to learn along the path and improve his business bit by bit. Getting up time and again when he fails.
For a whole lot of people out there whom still choose not to get it - This is the essence of managing a business. And, it only works for determined people - for people whom knows how to make use of the limited resources, time and money, to expand whatever they had and eventually turning it into valuable assets.
I'm not saying that I'll be like Ma Yun or Mark Zuckerberg one day (though I really wished to). But 1 thing for sure, of the experiences I had been through, it'll definitely make me a better being above a whole lot of people outta.
And, that's exactly the reason why I've never bitched or rather, had already given up trying to explain to all about what I'm doing now, for I came to realise that getting one to understand such things, is a huge bonus. Especially from a normal being.
Hence, it doesn't matter anymore if the whole world turns their backs on me. For, it only takes a person to understand me, and that's more than enough.
